Climate Change Coaching is coaching with an intention; to gain clarity about how to act in the face of this global crisis? How can I use my experiences, skills and values to make a difference that is congruent with who I am? My clients explore their responses to climate change, their feelings, values and concerns about it, their blockages and opportunities to taking action and then create a plan of how to move forwards.

I have spent 35 years working with leaders and teams in global organisations, education institutions and the public sector, as an Executive Coach and Leadership Facilitator. Now I choose to use these skills I have honed, to work for a cause that I believe urgently requires our care, intelligence and expertise; climate change. I am working with leaders to provide a thinking space to enable them to consider what is theirs to give at this time.

The Problem

The recent IPCC report is clear, anthropogenic climate change is real, present and lasting: it is now unequivocal that human influence has warmed the atmosphere, ocean and land to an unprecedented degree, with effects almost certain to worsen through the coming decades.

Transformation is required at every level of society: individuals, employers, institutions and international partners will need to work together …….. sharing ideas to plot a clear path from here to net zero.

We are in a crisis situation - our house is burning (Greta Thunberg).

If we keep doing what we have always done - we face an acceleration of the catastrophes we are already experiencing (flooding, wildfires, droughts, death of our seas etc).

The solutions - what can we do?

It is time to think and to act as leaders with our future generations in mind. We cannot continue with “business as usual” thinking. We can all be leaders, which means working intentionally with others to have a positive impact on our current situation; encouraging people to serve something that is greater than our own individual goals.

I believe that the challenge facing us is not that we are unaware that there is a global crisis that is created by us humans; our intellects have got it. The problem is that we often feel powerless and alienated. Joanna Macy* wrote "of all the dangers we face, none are so dangerous as the deadening of our responses"

And we need to remember to “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead.

What do I do?

We stay healthier and happier when we are connected to our deeper purpose, and contributing to our world in a meaningful way. I work with leaders who want to take action, to make a difference, however small.

I provide Coaching and Trainings that offer you an opportunity to step back, to reflect, to consider alternatives, and to plan how to take action. You will be supported, challenged and encouraged to think and feel outside the box within a non-judgemental respectful relationship. You will investigate beyond what you habitually think and do.

People come to work with me often when they are facing transitions, or when they want clarity of direction, or when they feel anxious about the state of the world and want to know what they can do.
